Five days trek to Machu Picchu, starting since 4:30 am 1st Day & finish 22:00 pm at last day. 

This is the second main trek to arrive Machu Picchu sourrounded by wonderfull scenaries such Salkantay snowcape (a beautiful snowcape and the second highest point of Cusco – 6264 msl), Humantay lake (one of the most atracction visited in Cusco), valleys, jungle landscapes until to enjoy the impressive Machu Picchu Sanctuary, a natural and cultural atraction, also one of the new wonders of the world.

How is the itinerary?, read below itinerary summarized.

• DAY 1: CUSCO – MOLLEPATA – SORAYPAMPA / (12 km / 7.4 miles) – 5 hours
• DAY 2: SORAYPAMPA – SALKANTAY PASS – COLPAPAMPA /(22 km / 13.7 miles) – 10 hours.
• DAY 3: COLPAPAMPA – PLAYA SAHUAYACO – LUCMABAMBA / (14 km/ 8.7 miles)- 5 hours
• DAY 4: LLACTAPATA – HIDROELECTRICA – AGUAS CALIENTES / (22 km/ 13.7 miles) – 6 hours
• DAY 5: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO

DAY 1: CUSCO – MOLLEPATA – SORAYPAMPA / (12 km / 7.4 miles) – 5 hours

Between 4:30 and 5:30 AM, the bus will pick you up from your accommodation in Cusco city. Then is two hours aproximatly until Mollepata village enjoying towns of Izcuchaca and Limatambo, arriving to Mollepata (2900 meters/ 9500 feet) around 7:30 am.

In Mollepata you are going to have time for your first breakfast and here also is the place where you give 5 kilos of your belongings to the staff to take with the horses.

After breakfast time, there is a 1 hour shuttle ride to Challacancha (3380 meters/ 11,090 feet). From this point, you will begin your first 3 hour hike, arriving to Soraypampa (3900 meters /12,800 feet) around 1:30 pm. There you will eat your first lunch and set up the first campsite. After lunch, you can enjoy the beautiful Humantay Lake (one of the most visited attraction in Cusco)

HUMANTAY LAKE: After a 1 and ½ hour ascent, You will arrive at the impressive Humantay Lake (4220 meters/13,850 feet) where you can enjoy the turquoise color of the lake and the snowy Humantay Mountain peak. Then is time to come back 40 minute descent to our campsite in Soraypampa for tea time, which is at approximately 6:00 pm and after is a delicious dinner prepared for us by the chef. Finally, spend the night in tents (this is the coldest night, the tends are gonna be inside huts – Huts, tends and mattress is included. You need to take or rent your sleping bag)

DAY 2: SORAYPAMPA – SALKANTAY PASS – COLPAPAMPA /(22 km / 13.7 miles) – 10 hours.

At 5:00 am start our second day adveture, eating a nutritious breakfast so that later we can continue our hike. The group and you will leave from Soraypampa at 5:30 am and hike for 3 hours to the highest point of the trek, the Abra Salkantay, where you can enjoy views of the snow capped mountains of Salkantay, Humantay, Tucarhuay, and Pumasillo (4650 meters/ 15,250 feet). As we pass thorugh Salkantaypampa and Soyrococha, we stop to see a small lake, then we will begin the descent towards Huaracmachay (3 hours) (3800 meters/ 12,470 feet). Here is the place to have lunch and then we will continue the hike, taking note of the drastic change in landscape. After, we will continue our descent towards Colpapampa (3 hours) (2900 meters/ 9500 feet) where our second campsite will be.

DAY 3: COLPAPAMPA – PLAYA SAHUAYACO – LUCMABAMBA / (14 km/ 8.7 miles)- 5 hours

Breakfast time is at 6.00 a.m. and shortly after start 5 ½ hours hiking through the jungle over many ascents and descents. In this area you are gonna enjoy many coffee and orchid plantations as well as many other plants used for medicinal purposes. The lunch time is in Playa Sahuayaco after that we will take a bus to our
third campsite (Lucmabamba). Here you have the option to visit the thermal baths located in Cocalmayo (Santa Teresa), which is not included in the package. We will return to our campsite at 6.00 pm for tea and later dinner.

DAY 4: LLACTAPATA – HIDROELECTRICA – AGUAS CALIENTES / (22 km/ 13.7 miles) – 6 hours

In Lucmabamba we will begin the day with breakfast at 6:30 am and be ready to continue our hike for 3 hours towards Hidroeléctrica where we will have lunch in a restaurant. After lunch we will continue our hike for 3 more hours towards Aguas Calientes where we will stay in a hostel and have dinner at 6.30 pm.

This day you are gonna have a unique and speciall, you are gonna enjoy Machu Picchu in the distance. Our group are gonna take a beautifull, quiet, unique way towards Llactapata, a small place with wonderfull flora, fauna and archaeological site where you can enjoy, see and take a pictures of Machu Picchu in the distance. .

DAY 5: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO

The grand finale! We will wake up very early this morning for our visit to Machu Picchu, where we will have a guided tour of the citadel to see and learn about temples, terraces, and all of the incredible stone structures that make Machu Picchu a Wonder of the World. For those who have previously selected to climb *Huayna Picchu Mountain or *Machu Picchu Mountain, you will do so at your designated time (1st group: 6am to 8am, 2nd group: 9am to 11am)

This day you can choose how to come back to Cusco.

First Option: Come back by Car.
It is the cheapest option, you need to leave from Machu Picchu 12:00 PM maximun, It is around three hours by foot until Hidroelectrica where the minivan is waiting to come back Cusco and arrive 10:00 PM approximately.

Second Option: Come back by Train. +65 or 85 USD Per Person
It gives to you more time to enjoy Machu Picchu, the train leaves from Aguas Calientes 18:20 PM or 21:50 PM, It is around two hours until Ollantaytambo and two hours by minivan until Cusco.

• If you leave 18:20 you arrive Cusco 10:00 PM approximately. +80 USD.
• If you leave 21:50 you arrive Cusco 01:00 AM of the next day approximately. +65 USD.

Third option: Stay one more nigth in Aguas Calientes. +20 USD Per Person
This option gives you more time to enjoy Machu Picchu, Aguas Calientes and the next day you decide how to come back Cusco (by car or by train)
