Rural Community Tourism in Paru Paru: Heirs and Protectors of More Than 3,000 Varieties of Native Potatoes

  • 7:30 to 8:00 hrs: Pick-up from your accommodation in Cusco.
  • 8:00 to 9:00 hrs: Drive from Cusco to the Sacred Valley Viewpoint in Taray, your first stop to connect with the Andean landscape.
  • 9:15 to 10:15 hrs: Continue toward the community of Paru Paru, nestled between Pisaq’s highest mountains and their living traditions.
  • 10:15 to 12:15 hrs: Traditional welcome and hike to Kinsaqocha Lagoon. Enjoy its flora, fauna, and breathtaking high-Andean scenery above 4,000 m.

  • 12:15 to 12:30 hrs: Special welcome at the community house.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The following Terms and Conditions apply to the booking, operation, and post-sale processes of all services contracted with MACHU PICCHU LOCAL TRIPS.

1. ABOUT THE COMPANY
  • MACHU PICCHU LOCAL TRIPS is part of the tourism projects of INTI EXPERIENCES, a member of the National Registry of Qualified Tourism Service Providers (MINCETUR), and the main brand operated by START UP INVERSIONES PERÚ S.R.L, identified with RUC No. 20602964958.
  • The company organizes, operates, coordinates, promotes, advises, and sells tourism services throughout Peru.
  • Its legal address is Calle Maynique S/N, Lamay District, Calca Province, Cusco Department, Peru.
2. BOOKING POLICIES
  • Reservations can be made through our website, email, or WhatsApp.
    A reservation is considered confirmed only once Machu Picchu Local Trips issues a confirmation message, specifying the service details.
  • To complete the booking process, the traveler must provide all required information, documentation, and payment as requested.
3. REFUND POLICY
  • Refunds for any service or travel package are subject to the refund policies of the service providers involved, and the refund details will be confirmed after the booking cancellation has been officially notified.
  • Refunds due to internal administrative and third-party providers procedures, may take up to 120 days to be processed.
  • At the time of contracting services, the client will be clearly informed about any non-refundable services as well as the applicable penalties in the event of cancellation.
  • In case of cancellation of a service or travel package, in addition to covering the non-refundable items, the client must pay a penalty of 10%, 20%, 50%, or 100% of the total service cost to cover administrative expenses and provider penalties.
  • The percentage applied depends on the timing of the cancellation, as detailed below:
    • Cancellations made more than one month in advance:
      10% penalty of the total service cost.
    • Cancellations made between 30 days and 72 hours before the start of the service:
      20% penalty of the total service cost.
    • Cancellations made between 72 and 48 hours before the start of the service:
      50% penalty of the total service cost.
    • Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the start of the service:
      100% penalty of the total service cost.
  • If the traveler does not show up for the scheduled service, it will be considered a NO SHOW, and 100% of the total service cost will be charged.
4. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY
  • It is the client’s obligation to ensure that all travel documents are valid and up to date, including passports, visas, insurance policies, and vaccination certificates.
  • We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers potential incidents such as accidents, medical emergencies, and cancellations.
  • By contracting any service or travel package, the client explicitly accepts all inherent risks and releases the agency from liability for unforeseen situations that may occur during the trip.
5. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
  • Machu Picchu Local Trips is not be responsible for force majeure events such as natural disasters (earthquakes, floods), strikes, adverse weather conditions, or political unrest that may cause cancellations, delays, or itinerary changes.
  • The client is responsible for any additional or extra expenses resulting from the above-mentioned unforeseen events.
  • Machu Picchu Local Trips is not responsible for delays or expenses caused by missing, expired, or incorrect travel documentation (passports, visas, etc.), or for the absence of required insurance or vaccinations.
  • The company can modify or cancel itineraries for safety, logistical, or force majeure reasons. In such cases, missed tours or services may not be refundable.
  • Machu Picchu Local Trips will not be responsible for accidents, personal injury, illness, or death of passengers during the trip. The client assumes full responsibility and the corresponding costs and risks associated with such situations.
